Julio Gómez’s production invites us to travel through an intimate and, at times, dreamlike universe. His works display a gallery of completely dissimilar objects and characters, but who dialogue through space. The landscape opens like a blanket under an atmosphere of estrangement, where time has frozen and the preciousness of the details accentuate the feeling of unreality of the whole. Somehow, the aesthetic search has some aspects in common with the metaphysical world of Giorgio de Chirico and the craftsman’s meticulousness that characterized Henri Rousseau. Beyond the affiliation that can be established, the visual impact achieved by this artist is of great beauty and subtle magnetism, clearly indebted to his creative work.
